I couldn't have asked for a better stay! The hotel's location is fantastic, attached to Old Chicago and within easy walking distance to various dining options in Ames. The rooms, though a little on the smaller side, were big, clean, and perfect for sharing with a colleague. The service was top-notch, with a kind and helpful front desk clerk who recognized me and my colleagues. The dining experience was exactly what I needed to fuel up before a busy day, and the facilities were more than adequate. The only downside was the questionable guest capacity of the breakfast area, which can get cramped at busy times.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were spacious with a great kitchen area and living room with a pullout sofa, but they weren't as handicap-friendly as I expected. The service was friendly, but I encountered a mixup that affected my rate. The location was convenient to many dining options and had a grand staircase, though it got a bit tight during breakfast rush. The dining options were satisfying, especially for fueling up before competitions.
